Error codes are programmed in all kinds of ovens. These codes are programmed to help factory service technicians to easily diagnose faults in the oven. If the electric control of an oven displays a fault code, then a trained technician should be invited to check and repair the fault. It is very common among users of popular brands for their appliance to stop working when it develops a fault. Most times, when an appliance stops working, it shows an error code that may not be understandable by the customer who lacks technical expertise. When such happens, customers are advised not to panic as a quick call to a service company will help fix the fault of your appliance. This article contains a detailed explanation of the different error codes that may appear on each brand, their meanings and how they can be fixed.

 

4 Digit Failure Code.

 

Please note that the different names for the clock components vary depending completely on the different brand of appliances. It could be referred to as Electronic range control, ERC, control board, Electronic Oven Control or clock.

 

Error code – Interpretation of Error Code – Error remedy/ quick fix.

 

F1-E0 – Error in Communication – if this error code appears, power should be disconnected for about 1 minute and then reconnected. Allow the appliance to work for a minute after power has been restored. If the error code appears again, then you should consider replacing the control board.

 

F1-E1 – Check-in Error – if this error code appears, power should be disconnected for about 1 minute and then reconnected. Allow the appliance to work for a minute after power has been restored. If the error code appears again, then you should consider replacing the control board.

 

F1-E2 -UL A/D Error – if this error code appears, power should be disconnected for about 1 minute and then reconnected. Allow the appliance to work for a minute after power has been restored. If the error code appears again, then you should consider replacing the control board.

 

F1-E4 – Model Id Error – if this error code appears, power should be disconnected for about one minute and then reconnected. Allow the appliance to work for about a minute or two after the power is restored. If the error code appears again, then you should consider replacing the control board.

 

F1-E5 – Calibration has been shifted from its position – if this error code appears, power should be disconnected for about 1 minute and then reconnected. Allow the appliance to work for about a minute or two after the power has been restored. If the error code appears again, then you should consider replacing the control board.

 

F1-E6 – Error of Latch Signal Mismatch – if this error code appears, power should be disconnected for about 1 minute and then reconnected. Allow the appliance to work for a minute after power has been restored. If the error code appears again, then you should consider replacing the control board.

 

F1 – E9 – Overflow of The Stack – if this error code appears, power should be disconnected for about 1 minute and then reconnected. Allow the appliance to work for a minute after power has been restored. If the error code appears again, then you should consider replacing the control board.

 

F1-E3 – The size of the wiring harness cavity is different than the stored value – Check to be sure that the jumpers in the harness are the same as the actual oven size.

 

F2-E0 – Shorted Keypad (TouchPad) – Check to be sure that the connection between the keypad (TouchPad) and the control board is properly secured. Select “cancel” and wait for 1 minute. If the error code appears again, then the Keypad should be replaced or both the control board and keypad and if they are in one assembly.

 

F2-E1 – Keypad cable has been unplugged – check to be sure that the connection between the keypad (TouchPad) and the control board is properly secured. Select “cancel” and wait for 1 minute. If the error code appears again, then the Keypad should be replaced or both the control board and keypad and if they are in one assembly.

 

F2-E5 – Opened Cancel Key Line – check to be sure that the connection between the keypad (TouchPad) and the control board is properly secured. Select “cancel” and wait for 1 minute. If the error code appears again, then the Keypad should be replaced or both the control board and keypad and if they are in one assembly.

 

F2-E6 – Opened Cancel Key Line – check to be sure that the connection between the keypad (TouchPad) and the control board is properly secured. Select “cancel” and wait for 1 minute. If the error code appears again, then the Keypad should be replaced or both the control board and keypad and if they are in one assembly.

 

F4-E1 – Defect in Meat Probe – This error code shows that there is a problem with the receptacle, probe or probe circuit. Check for pinched wires in the probe and check that the receptacle is not condensed. If in good condition, the probe should be replaced.

 

F5-E codes – Door Switch Problem – This error codes appear only when there is a mismatch in the door switches. For the latched door, disconnect the power and check the connections and the wires. If any damage is discovered, appropriate parts should be replaced. If no connection is damaged you need to reconnect the power and press and hold any key until F5 error code disappears. Once it is cleared, select “cancel” and carefully observe for about a minute.

 

F6-E0 – Return Line Disconnected – This error code appears within 1 minute after the appliance has been powered up. If the error appears, then control board should be replaced.

 

F7-E1 – Defective Common Switch Wire – This error code comes up when there is a shorted common wire between the door switch and the latch switch. If the error code comes up, check all connection at the door switch, latch switch and control board. If the connections are Ok, check every individual switch. Note that double ovens have 2 of each switch and one common wire.

F0 – Control Board Failure – Simply replace the complete control board.

 

F1 – Control Board Failure – Simply replace the complete control board.

 

F2 – Oven temperature higher than it should be – Check bake and boiled Relay and see if the contacts are well welded. If so, control board should be replaced.

For models that are inbuilt with self-clean function, the door lock should be checked. Also check the sensor, sensor harness and all the harness connections of the oven control and sensor. All possible causes of a high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit should be checked too.

Note that the oven control board does not read the actual oven temperature, but the resistance of the sensor circuit.

 

F3 – Oven Temperature Sensor is open – Oven temperature sensor should be replaced.

 

F4 – Oven Temperature is Shorted – Oven temperature sensor should be replaced.

 

F5 – Control Board Failure – Simply replace the complete control board.

 

F7 Stacked Function Key – Replace Control board.

 

F8 – Control Board Failure – Simply replace the complete control board. F9 – Oven door lack has failed – Check the wiring of door lock switches.
